L.C. Smith Collectors Association/ California
Side by Side Society
West Coast Event
The Colonies versus the Colonials
The California Side by Side Society and
the L.C. Smith Collectors Association are planning a one day event to
feature vintage side by side shotguns with origins in America and across
the Atlantic Ocean, thus the Colonies versus the Colonials.
We are contacting the various American
made side by side associations in hopes of attracting participants with
L.C. Smiths, Parkers, Lefevers, Foxes etc. to join us in this contest
over clays. English and Scottish along with other European made guns
will also be represented.
Plans are for a combination of sporting
clays and wobble trap (75-100 rounds) culminating in an Annie Oakley
shoot off at the five stand by the highest place scores in the domestic
and foreign categories. A final shoot off between the survivors of the
Annie Oakley elimination will compete for top honors. Only one gun is to
be used with no interchange of chokes.
The place: Coyote Valley Sporting Clays-
just south of San Jose in the Bay Area
The date: Saturday, June 17, 2006
The time: 8:30AM
Following a morning of competition, we
will assemble in an attractive grove of Oak Trees to display our guns
and share a country lunch and presentation of awards to the “top guns”.
Details to follow as to costs associated
with the event and recommended and convenient overnight accommodations
for those traveling some distance.
